Also a few notes on the overall goal of this site:
The short-term goal of this forum is to be a simple and easy to use community platform, to share information about the game and start growing a community around it. This site is managed by myself, and as such I have prioritized keeping things streamlined and secure to make moderation a manageable task. This is also the reason for the couple third party services being used - namely Gravatar and Turnstile - offloading content hosting and spam protection takes a huge weight off my shoulders.
For the same reason there are also many common forum features not present here, such as private messaging or dedicated subforums. This might change over time, but for now I've focused on keeping things simple.
Later on, I'll look into migrating to Discourse, which is a far more complete forum platform with a lot more features. It also has the advantage of working better without Javascript, among a few other things. That is a much greater time investment, though, so for now this platform I think will do well enough :)
